If you want to see the world, experience different cultures, and enjoy a very relaxing environment
I suggest that a great approach for accomplishing your objectives, in a very cost effective and comfortable manner, is to
use the capabilities of the cruise industry. My wife and I did not start out with the objective of taking cruise vacations.
We were planning a trip to Europe and my wife expressed a desire to take a cruise that started and finished in the port city
serving Rome and visited Athens and Cairo and other locations rather than visit one or two major
cities. Since we had never been on a cruise before we didn't know if we would like the cruise experience or not.
We elected to take a five day "test cruise" on Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas in 2006 and we were
very pleased with our "test". We then went on a Mediterranean cruise on Royal Caribbean's Legend
of the Seas in 2007 and had a wonderful trip. We were hooked on cruising as a great way to see the world.

on the Deep Blue Sea: The Dreams, Schemes and Showdowns That Built America's Cruise-Ship Empires by Kristoffer A. Garin.
This is a great book that documents the long term corporate battle between Carnival and Royal Caribbean and the evolution
of the cruise industry. We have been on twenty cruises in the Caribbean and Mediterranean
Seas and the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans since 2006 and we have two additional cruises
booked for 2015 and 2016. I hope to provide my readers with a sampling of the capabilities of
the industry with a review of our past cruises and plans for future cruises. Hopefully, we will meet you on board
one of the cruise ships at some time in the future. My wife and I decided in 2010 that one of our objectives over the next few years would
be to circumnavigate the world via the world's oceans on cruise chips. We also wanted to go through the Suez
and Panama Canals as part of our global journey. We planned to cruise around the world and visit many of the
world's great cities in a series of four cruises. Each cruise was planned to visit at least one port
on one of the other cruises so we could complete the global linkage we desired. We completed the fourth of the
four cruises in the spring of 2014 to complete our global adventure. While it is possible to circumnavigate
the world in a single cruise we decided we would rather break the trip up into sections so we could prepare ourselves for
each part of the global journey. Now that our global cruise adventure is complete we need to decide
where we are headed next! Past Cruises Enchantment of the Seas - Western Caribbean Cruise from Ft. Lauderdale in 2006 - Ports
